3 Day Weekend
The past few trips I have hit the road with my girlfriend, this time we caught a flight to D.C. She had a couple best friends she couldn’t wait and she and I was asked to do an interview with the Shine Hard Fam, so we decided to plan an entire weekend. We stayed at the Kimpton Palomar, visited the National Museum of African American History & Culture, and had dinner at the Dirty Habit with our friends.
Kimpton Palomar
I was so excited to stay in the hotel for the first time and after walking in I realized I stayed in the exact hotel as an intern with the Chick-fil-A Foundation in 2014. It made me even more excited because I had to share a double with a fellow intern and now I had a king suite with m girlfriend. The hotel is located in Dupont Circle which is right in the middle of everything. Also if you have time you should grab a drink and a bite at the restaurant connected, Urbana.

On our second day we got a chance to go site seeing. We could not wait until 10am Saturday morning to visit the NMAAHC. It was one of the most memorable experiences I have had in the last few years, it was so many great things to experience. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes because there are six floors of work to go through. You start off at the bottom level and it took us a little over two hours to get through there levels. Then we went through another three levels that also took another two hours to get through. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to experience the sixth floor, but we made a promise to come back and finish it completely.
Date Night + Friends
Then we finish off the night at the Dirty Habit which is attached to the Kimpton Monaco. My girlfriend’s friends joined us for drinks over dinner and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If I am speaking for everyone at the table, the drinks were our favorite part of the night. The crafted cocktails were the talk of the table. If you ever want to grab dinner or just have drinks with friends, the Dirty Habit is the way to go. Be sure to check out their menu and call ahead for a table.
